Good morning. I thought I'd stop by the site to post this (courtesy of ESPN.com):
Being in first in the AFC West is kinda like winning a gold medal in the Special Olympics, but since we all like to talk our football smack here, consider this the first volley. And if being first in the AFC West is like winning the Special Olympics, what does it say to be in last?
I have no delusions of grandeur. My earlier prediction of a 4-12 season still could come true, especially with the brutal schedule through the next two months. But the defense has allowed an NFL-low 26 points through four games. Dallas was the first true test, and they passed.
In other news, there's still a professional football team in Kansas City. However, there is no word if NFL football is still being played there. Stay tuned for more details...

Before CowboyLaw comes on to give his defense, let me first offer a retort:
Fuck you.
In all seriousness, the Chiefs are a disaster. Sometimes you decide to blow up a team and you become the Atlanta Falcons, but most times you become the Detroit Lions. The Chiefs stacked themselves with over the hill free agents, while giving draft picks away for years. Well. Now they are left with no good veterans and a boatload of first and second year players that aren't good. I don't care who you are: When you are putting 6th, 7th rounders along with nondrafted players (Page, Carr, Mays, O'Hallahan, Niswanger, Cox) Along with wash-ups (Goff, Bradley, Ingram, Wade, Vrabel, Brown) on the field, you are going to suck royal. (Royals- ha!)
I can't hate on Todd Haley for shitty play calling. I mean what are you going to do when you get the snap in the shotgun and Justin Tuck is already in your grill? Larry Johnson is running into walls of the opposing team's jersey while his own lineman are wondering how they ever get a contact to play football in the first place?
As the eternal optimist, I have to believe that in four years most of these washouts will be gone and we will still have guys like Brandon Flowers, Ty Jax, Dorsey, DJ and Bowe still producing along with Charles and even Cassel.
As for this year...I will be watching, but I won't be surprised to see this team go 3 wins (if they are lucky).
Edit: Oh yea, Donkeys can suck my balls.
This is about what I can say: any Chiefs fan knew this year was going to be bad. Pure and simple. The Chiefs are (and have been for about 3 years) just waiting for the new stadium to open next year, and until that happens, they're saving their money.
That being said, here's what's missing:
2 new OL players. A real RT would be a good start. The second one could go anywhere, but I'd go with C. This is going to improve the run game, and keep our QB from having to run for his life 15 plays a game. Which in turn helps the passing game.
1 CB. The good thing about this is, you can draft these guys. Just give me one cover corner, and things will get much better.
1 WR. We don't even need a deep threat---Bowe can do that (if he learns how to catch). We just need a possession receiver to fill the gaping Tony Gonzales-sized hole in the receiving corp. Someone who can convert a third-and-six.
Beyond that, the Chiefs are decent in most other respects. The defense comes and goes, but overall it's shaping up nicely. Cassell has been quirky, but the guy deserves danger pay for what the OL is putting him through, so I don't fault him for the occasional bad pass.
My favorite Queefs fact of the year is that of the more than 20 players who were cut when the new coaching staff came into town to replace Herm and the gang, only *2* (yes, two) of them made the rosters for other NFL teams this year. What does that tell you about the quality of players when you cut them and less than 10% of them catch on even as a back-up with another team. I find it hilarious.
It's to the point where it's looking like the Tampa Bay Bucs of the 1980s. You're so bad that your GM has overpaid your QB who has one season of starting experience. Your GM shit down his leg to sign Cassel, who is about as good a QB as a girl I know named Cassie, who is in a wheelchair BTW. At the rate that he's getting sacked this season, he will be too by season's end.
And a word about the Broncos. Hear me now and listen to me later when I say that this team will continue to play good defense but will not make the playoffs this year. If a team with Kyle Orten at QB makes the playoffs, we should seriously consider that the apocalypse is upon us.
5-0. I'm okay with my prediction being wrong.
